SatNav Technologies, a global positioning system (GPS) provider is planning to tenfold its presence in India. The company has access to 1,000 points of presence (POP) at present. It aspires to open 10,000 points in next financial year and has plans to expand and sell its products through franchise model.
The company is looking at various categories of franchisees such as Independent MLM salespersons or insurance advisors, small business owners like supermarkets, kirana stores; mobile stores, car dealers and car accessories stores, and IT channel distributors. Currently, SatNav have just a few franchisees in each of these categories, except for the car dealers and car accessories channels where it has access to over 800 stores in India.
