Yatra .com looking to expand its retail footprint in India

• Founded in January 2006, Yatra is a leading online travel brand and the 2nd largest online travel services provider in India
• Set up with initial capital raised from Norwest Venture Partners (“NVP”), Reliance Capital and Network18 and media credit from Network 18

           - Intel Capital participated subsequently in July 2008

• Launched commercial services on August 1, 2006 and has handled over 6.6m transactions as of Sep-2011 
• First Multi-channel travel company - Reachable online, offline , call centre and on mobile application
• Provides customers travel-related information, pricing, availability and reservations for airline tickets, hotel rooms, cars rentals, coaches and holiday packages
• In Sept-2010, Yatra acquired TSI, a leading flight consolidator with more than 90% business from its international ticketing segment
• In the five years since launching operations, the total transaction value has scaled up from $200k/month to $65m/month (over Rs 300 crores a month)

           - Gross sales have grown at a CAGR of 119% over the five years

• Yatra’s first employee was hired in Feb-2006 and the team has grown to a current team strength of ~1,300
• Yatra is now looking to expand its retail footprint in India with the help of Franchisee partners.
