Kavita Jain, Vice President MDN Edify Education (P) Ltd. (DRS Group) shares her experience of company’s participation in FRO, Jaipur.

Namita Bhagat (NB): How did MDN Edify Education (P) Ltd came into existence and when did the company decided to take franchise route for expansion?
Kavita Jain (KJ): Education is the foundation on which an individual grows and a country progresses. Having understood this simple tenet of life and the aspiration of an Emerging India, the founders of the renowned DRS Group, founded the MDN Edify Education (P) Ltd. with the motto ‘Leading Young India’, MDN Edify has pledged to provide the finest quality of education and create a society of progressive thinking individuals. MDN Edify Education has successfully set up: DRS International School; Edify Kids; Edify School and Edify Para Education. In 2003, the DRS International School was established in Hyderabad and from then on there has been no looking back. DRS International School has carved a niche for itself in the realm of high quality education. Subsequently, MDN Edify started a chain of over 100 pre-schools pan-India under the brand name DRS Kids and Edify Kids, from pre-schools, the next logical step was to provide world class education and thus Edify Schools took shape. In 2010, MDN Edify Education set up Edify schools in Nagpur, Amravati, Bengaluru, Ranipet (TN), Hyderabad, Behrampur and Chandigarh.

NB: Do you think promotional strategy plays a significant role in the appropriate growth of the brand. Elaborate on the strategy you adopt to enhance the reach of your brand?
KJ: A right promotional strategy of any company is the key to increase customer awareness both of the product and knowledge about the product desirable features and benefits. At Edify we promote our brand through internet, print media and by participating in various expos.

NB: Your Company has participated in FRO Jaipur. What factors motivated you to participate in the event?
KJ: Several initiatives taken by the state government has resulted in the significant development of education in the state of Rajasthan. The literacy rate of the state has also witnessed a steady growth in the recent years. Considering the growth and potential of the state, we decided to participate in the event.

NB: Share your experience of being one of the participating companies at FRO.
KJ: Franchise Expo has been fruitful for us and has been a good platform to promote our brand.

NB: How do you think the brands’ participation in the event would contribute to the growth of your company?
KJ: Brands’ participation gives opportunity to interact with right audience, who are genuinely interested in franchise model and also contribute in growth of the company.

NB: What advice would you like to give to the entrepreneurs and investors aspiring to participate in the show to get maximum benefits from it?
KJ: Education Franchise needs to have many more dimension than any other business
franchise, as our customers are children who stay for years and depend highly on our
