Imparting skills by franchise way In its endeavor to provide skilled manpower in BPO industries, the company opted for franchise route in 2007 for its expansion and growth . In an interview Manish Agarwal , Director, Orion Edutech shares his experience of brand’s participation in FRO, Kolkata.


Namita Bhagat (NB): Share the origin and growth of Orion Edutech and how did the company opt for franchise route?

Manish Agarwal (MA): Orion Edutech Pvt. Ltd started its training business by establishing a training centre at Barasat, Suburb of Kolkata in the year 2005. After successful operations and successfully giving placement to its students by tying up with the various organisations company felt that there is a huge gap in the training market and requirement of the skilled manpower in BPO industries. The company thus chose its growth path through franchisee route since 2007.

NB: Promotional strategy plays a very significant role in the appropriate growth of the brand. Kindly elaborate on the strategy you adopt to enhance the reach of your brand?

MA: Orion does promotional activities in medias like press advertisement, outdoor advertisement, participating in franchise fair, radio advertisement and electronic and on line media, participation in conference and seminar, tying up with NASSCOM, FICCI,CII and BCI to enhance the reach of our brand.

NB: Orion Edutech participated in FRO, Kolkata. What factors motivated you to participate in the event?

MA: Professional attitude of the FRO team and solid network of aspiring entrepreneurs motivated us to participate in FRO.

NB: Share your experience of being one of the participating companies at FRO.

MA: FRO has given us a big platform and has played key role in our expansion. We are really pleased with their professional attitude and marketing strategy. The best thing about FRO is its strong and dedicated team.

NB: How do you think the brands’ participation in the event would contribute to the growth of your company?

MA: We are looking for serious entrepreneurs and working professionals who are planning to set up their own business. We think FRO will be a good platform for B2B meet where we can select right business partners.

NB: What advice would you like to give to the entrepreneurs and investors aspiring to participate in the show to get maximum benefits from it?

MA: They should invest in proven business model to minimise the risk of their investment. They should understand different business levels minutely and should do solid homework before taking any decision. They should not be fascinated with low investment or high profits but should be more convinced with the concept.
